The large embroidered Atom Cats patch for jackets.
Place your jacket on an ironing board so that the only layer you are ironing is the back of the jacket, and the back of the jacket is facing up. Place the patch where you want it. Place a pillowcase or other thin cotton or linen fabric on top of the patch so that your iron does not make direct contact with the patch. Turn your iron up to its highest setting. Do not use steam.
Place the pre-heated iron onto the patch and apply pressure. After 10 seconds, move the iron around the patch, making sure you have heated every part, until you have completed a minute of ironing.
Once you confirm that the patch is sticking to the back of the jacket, turn the jacket around and iron it from the inside for 30 seconds if the jacket is unlined.
Do not try this on 100% synthetic garments (polyester, nylon, polyurethane, vinyl) as they will melt under high heat.
I mean, you could. But it is not a permanent solution. The patch will eventually start to separate from the leather. The iron-on can, however, be a good fixative until you can get it to a sewing machine.
If you’re using a domestic sewing machine and you think it is strong enough, make sure you have a leather needle installed, and that you purchase a patch without backing (the backing makes the patch thicker and harder to pierce). If your domestic machine is not enough, then I would recommend taking your jacket to an upholstery shop, where they can use their walking-foot machine to easily sew through the leather and patch layers.

I recently received my patch, and was thrilled with the size and the quality of the item. I'm a rather small person, so for me, the patch covers most of my back, but the size is large enough to look wonderful on about anyone. The embroidery itself is gorgeous and well done, and looks just as good up close as it does from a distance.
